

The Individual Awards are presented by the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute, SA Region.
Individual Awards are conferred on individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment and leadership in the spatial industry, or who exhibit high levels of professional expertise.
This award is conferred on practising academics who have substantially contributed, through teaching, research and publication or professional activities, to the study and promotion of the field of spatial science; and to recognise and promote excellence for practicing academics in the field of spatial science.
The Spatial Teacher of the Year Award is conferred on a teacher that has made a significant contribution to the advancement of spatial technology in an education environment.
This award encourages and commends those persons who provide exemplary dedication, effort and service to the spatial community. This award is open to an individual or associate SSSI member or an employee of a sustaining partner who has undertaken various tasks for some considerable time at either the Regional Committee level and/or National Board Level and has demonstrated a high level of dedication, commitment and service.
This award is open to and recognises young professionals who make significant contributions in the field of Spatial Sdence and act as a role model for others in the industry.
The Spatial Professional of the Year Award is conferred on a practitioner working in any of the disciplines of the spatial sciences whose professional achievements are acknowledged by peer citation as exemplifying the highest standards of excellence and ethical conduct.
This award is for excellence in student endeavours at the postgraduate level and is awarded for research in a Masters or PhD degree. Students eligible to enter this award include Masters and PhD students who have completed the degree to which their research contributes during the calendar year 2010. Projects from any area of the spatial sciences may be submitted, and will be judged by a panel with expertise in the relevant area. Winners of this award will be presented with a cash prize of $250.
This award is for excellence in student endeavours at the undergraduate or graduate level and is awarded for a student project at the certificate, diploma, degree, honours, graduate certificate or graduate diploma level. Students eligible to enter this award include final year certificate, diploma or undergraduate students from Tafe or University, graduates including Honours, Graduate Certificate/Diploma and Masters by coursework. Projects from any area of the spatial sciences may be submitted, and will be judged by a panel with expertise in the relevant area. Winners of this award will be presented with a cash prize of $250.
